Athairia - The SettingIn the beginning, Athairia was nothing more than vicious rock and untamed forests. If one were to venture too far into the island they would fall into the canyon. But, over time, the land had grew into a beautiful place.
-------------------
Cities began to grow:
Creade Town: A small, peaceful, town where new trainers usually start their journey. This was the first place settled, however, not many stayed after it was settled because of the curiosity to travel and conquer inward. The professor's lab is here. Now instead of the professor giving beginner trainers Pokemon they have to work for it. At the back of the lab is a large field where starter Pokemon are waiting to be captured by their potential trainers. This allows the professor to weed out the weak from the strong. Will the beginners be up for the challenge?
Dawnrin City: Dawnrin is a pretty big city for a beginner city. It holds great value to Athairia. In Dawnrin you can find the Dawnrin Academy where students train to become Breeders, Coordinators, Trainers, Professor Assistants, etc. The Academy of Dawrin has been awarded many titles for such high academic scores and standards. Dawnrin also contains a Museum filled with rare collectibles found in Athairia long ago.
Dawnrin is known for it's firey town's people and friendly welcoming party. The gym leader here may be the first but tough, beginners better watch their back!
Shrealin Port Town: Shrealin Port, this port maybe small but it is very busy. It's a miracle that this place is even here. Not that long ago this port was underwater. The main attraction to this small port town is the fishing. The docks are one of the best places to fish for wild Pokemon. Some Flying types and Water types find it lovely here. The Pokemon Center in near the entrance to this town and the PokeMart is right next to it. This PokeMart sells the same things that just about all of them sell. One of the many ships in this port is the Mardion. This boat sails back and forth between regions. This port town is a great first stop for a trainer when he or she needs so rest and relaxation.
Fluttery City: The city of Fluttery, this was once a barren wasteland. No trees or plants around. Recently (with the sprouting of more trainers) this wasteland had become a giant city. In the middle of the city is the Gym. The leader, Julien, resides there with his Pokemon. The Pokemon center is next to the Gym, as is the PokeMart. They sell the normal things found in these little shops. The city throws a carnival every year around summer to celebrate the birth of the city.
It is prone to rain here and is very stormy at times. Its not very unlikely that you will see the leader of Fluttery's gym walking around town. This may look like a peaceful city, but when you enter the Gym its a different story. Inside of the Gym is a giant fan. In the center of the Gym is the leader Julien. The badge of this Gym is a pair of wings.
Petalin Town: Petalin Town is a small, cozy, town. This place is filled with beautiful flowers. It often grabs the attention of Bug and Grass Pokemon, and beginning trainers. Petalin has a shrine dedicated to the Flower Goddess and all she has given them. They celebrate the beginning of spring with a festival of beauties. The towns people dance around the Flower Goddess shrine. Many trainers come to study this shrine, thinking their is a mystery behind it.
Vespice Bug Haven: Description coming soon...
Loyras City: Description coming soon...
Vigora City: A large canyon has cut the city into two parts. A long, stable bridge is the only thing that connects the two parts together. Vigora is rocky and rough to get through because of its rigid terrain. There is a lake in this city as well which provides the city folks with water. Even though water is here few plants tend to grow. It is not suited for farming or gardening because of the dry soil.
Vigora's gymleader is currently unknown for no one dares venture to the other side of Vigora. They would have to be extremely brave to cross the bridge.
Norui Town: Norui town is a small town that has little to offer trainers but a lot to breeders. A world famous breeder lives here and is mayor of the town. Occasionally he will share his wisdom with others who aspire to be top breeders such as himself. There isn't much else to see in Norui town. It is just a small area that prepares a trainer for the A.C.H. or Malroy cave.
Athairian Contest Hall: The Athairian Contest Hall is a place where coordinators of all types come to challenge one another for the title of Star Coordinator. Contestants dazzle their audience with fantastic appeals, hoping to steal the lime light! The Athairian Contest Hall is a luxurious place containing a hotel and spa to pamper Pokemon.
The Athairian Contest Hall is also known to be the main head quarters for the Ribbon Society where custom ribbons are made to fit the personality of a Pokemon.
Maligranite City: Maligranite is a city located on a beach located in Northern Athaira. For one reason or another it tends to snow here a bit. It looks extremely pretty when the dusty roads and grassy hillsides are covered in snow. However, Maligranite isn't a friendly place. A group of Stunky and Skuntank roam here at night and try to cause a bit of havoc. Since the herd of stinky Pokemon were here first the towns people have found ways to allow them freedom. If trainers really want a badge from this place they will have to wear a gas mask to precede to the gym.
The gym leader of this town had left on short notice, leaving in charge an untrained lackie to keep watch. She appears to be a pushover but her true power is unknown.
Newave City: This place is known for its great waves and pure beaches. Newave is also known for their famous dessert known as 'Sparkling Sand'. The exact contents are unknown but it is incredibly sweet and well decorated. The city contains a large shopping mall and a resort on its beach for tourists. The weather here is fantastic. It is mostly sunny with a small breeze here and there.
Athairian Mega Safari: The Athairian Safari is the largest Safari Zone through the regions. It extends all the way to the beach line. When most of Athairia was settled the government decided to leave a large area preserved for Pokemon of all sorts. The wild life and nature is protected strictly. It is sort of expensive to catch a Pokemon here since there is a large veriety of Pokemon to few. Many treasures are waiting to be discovered. Do you have what it takes to travel it all?
Sinrius Grave: An abandoned town once known as Trinitai City. It had prospered only for a few months before some sort of mass tragedy took place. This place has become cold with dry soil and crumbled buildings. It has been marked as a grave sight for many graves line the streets. Ghost Pokemon overun the place, making it a dangerous trek to the new Trinitai City. Only brave souls make it across the abandoned city.
Trinitai City: Trinitai city is a very ghostly town. Ghost Pokemon of all sorts can be found wandering the streets. No one appears to mind them either. The town appears to be glum and depressing but everyone seems content with their way of life. The people are friendly at times but remain reserved and quiet.
A new gym leader has been placed at the city's gym. He is the adopted son of Mr. Okata. There isn't much to say about the gym leader since his techniques in battle are unknown. His gym, however, is extremely dark and has a grave yard theme to it. The theme attempts to spook the trainer.
Moonveil City: Moonveil City is a quiet and serene city. Lighting the streets at night are lamp posts filled with Dawn stones. Tourists are often drawn to Moonveil because of its pretty attractions at night. This city has been known to celebrate both the Spring Equinox and Autumn Equinox by holding a festival at night. At night, a trainer must never venture to the gym. They will find an empy gym during the night for the gym leader sneaks off to Lone Cave. What possible reason could be behind this?

On Elite Island:
Elite Four Tower: A large tower that cascades into the sky, set on top of a grassy hill in the middle of a large grassy field. It’s surrounded by lush green forest, and tall, snowy mountains. One can find a multitude of types of Pokemon around the area. Through some caves in the mountains, it’s able to come out on a stretching, sandy beach. Water Pokemon reside around this area, such as Krabby, Wingull, Shellos, etc. The tower itself is 8 stories high. The bottom floor of the tower is a resting area, with several rooms for those that are preparing to face the Elite Four. Second floor is a Pokemon Center, where the challengers can leave their Pokemon to rest and be treated. On the third floor is a Pokemart, which sells everything one can think of. The fourth floor is Lucy Chanal’s battle field, who is a master of Psychic types. Fifth floor is the battle field of the Water master’s, Raul Aquino. On the sixth floor is Aurora Koori on her field, who is the master of Ice types. The seventh floor is Sparker, who is the Electric master; he is the final of the Elite Four. The eighth floor is where the Champion is supposed to be, but due to a lack of the Champion’s location, it is empty. The eighth floor can rise up through an opening roof, giving a view of all of Athairia. Whoever can reach the eighth floor must go out and find the Champion on their own, who is somewhere in Athairia.
Victory Road: Just like many other Victory Roads, the one in Athairia is a large cave filled with tunnels. Upon entering, one finds to be in a large, open cave, filled with stalagmites and stalactites, and hundreds of tunnels leading in different directions. The tunnels all lead to dead ends or other tunnels, making Victory Road like a labyrinth. Only one tunnel leads to the large field hosting the Elite Four Tower. There are pools of water in the labyrinth, some deeper than others. Pokemon that can be found here are rock, fighting, dark, water, and psychic types. Getting through Victory Road is more difficult than one might think, considering that there are hundreds of levels to the in-mountain cave and tunnels.
Etoimos Port Town: The Port Town of Elite Island, Etoimos is where everyone going to the island is first taken. The fairy drops it’s passengers off at the bottom of a large cliff, where they are then taken to the town via a large hydroelectric-powered lift. The town itself is of good size, and due to the constant inflow and outflow of supplies, crates and barrels line the streets and fill storage buildings. There are many places to go in the town, but it’s most popular attraction is its large Farris wheel, which overlooks the sea and the eastern coast of Athairia. Although the town seems clean enough, there tend to be more and more crimes popping up. The northern exit of the town leads straight to Victory Road.
-----------------
On Ranger Island:
Ranger H.Q.: The Headquarters for the Athairian Pokemon Rangers, this building has everything that a person could think of. There is a lobby, where the Rangers usually spend their time when not out on missions. There’s also a large kitchen and mess hall, which are used for exactly what any other kitchen and mess hall are used for, and separate rooms for the Rangers. Another room, the most important by far, is the Intelligence Room, where the Rangers do all of their in-house work. The I.R. includes constantly streaming information about what’s going on throughout Athairia, communications software for contact with every city and town, and other devices.
Dasomeno Training Grounds: These are the wooded training grounds for the Rangers. Practice missions and training exercises are carried out here in its many different areas. The grounds are completely wooded, with the exception of a few clearings. There is a small mountain in the woods, with a single known entrance through an opening into a cave. Inside the cave is a waterfall, which has pooled into a lake, which branches off into a few rivers that flow out through the woods. The area is full of every type of Pokemon, which makes it the perfect place for training.
-----------------
Landmarks were made:
Dawnra Forest : A beautiful forest that dawns the start of a trainer's quest. The trees in this forest are strange for one reason. The leaves of each tree are always red, yellow, or orange. It's strange but beautiful at the same time. The people of Dawnrin city say that embedded in each tree is a shiny stone, that is why the leaves are always brightly coloured. Many bug and grass Pokemon call this place home.
Sanco Oasis: Sanco Oasis is a cute little spot where Pokemon of all sort gather. It is surrounded by beautiful palm trees and tropical flowers. A large lake is in the middle of all this nature where Pokemon get a drink. Pokemon like Butterfree and Altaria migrate to breed. This spot is preserved by Athairia government so its beauty is not tainted by humans.
Malroy Cave: Malroy cave is a dark and ominious cave. This cave can prove to be extremely dangerous for trainers because of its endless 'cave ways'. The halls of this cave appear to be endless. Many eventually go mad in this place because of it. However, if you have a good ranger skills it won't be too difficult. Fighting, Ground, and Rock type Pokemon call this place home.
Lament Field: The fields which lead to Sinrius Grave. It is known for its large empty fields. An eerie breeze often leads travellers closer and closer to the Sinrius grave. Lament Fields is also a place where thunder storms gather and strike the ground. It is the perfect place for Dark, Ghost and Electric Pokemon to prosper. Those of Trinitai City say that deep under the fields of Lament Field is a hoard of Dusk and Thunder stones. This is only a myth though.
Lone Cavern: Lone Cavern is a cave half submerged under water. Lighting the cave are Dawn stones embedded into the walls of the cave. The Gym Leader of Moonveil is known to travel here and hide out quite frequently for unknown reasons. The mayor of Moonveil also has this place protected because of it's serenity and beauty. Rare Pokemon can be found here but what exact types are here are unknown.

Secret Locations:
Legend's Throne: An island way off the coast of Athairia's main land. This island is hard to get to because of the long distance to travel and the roughness of the winds and ocean currents. There are rumours shrouding this place. It is called Legend's Throne because Legendary Pokemon reside here after Athairia had been discovered. The Legends were the ones who made Athairia and tough place to climb but humans have overcome their obstacles. They now reside at this island and protect it with their life. Rarely will the legends return the main land.
Regal Village: Regal village really isn't a village at all. Rumours in Athairia say that the Champion resides here in a small hut. However, no one, not even an Elite Four member, has made it to this island. It is a difficult place to find because the island is overun with forests. If the Champion does reside here he or she has probably hidden themself well.
